Nonpharmacologic Treatment in Obesity |

Obesity is defined as the increase of fat mass in the body, caused by genetic, environmental, biological, sociocultural and behavioral factors, and it is considered as a chronic and recurrent disease due to the causes of formation, the complications and the diseases it induces.The aim of obesity treat-ment is to decrease obesity related morbidity and mortality risks, to provide adequate and balanced nutrition habits and to improve quality of life. In obesity treatment, a 10% decrease in body weight over a six-month period provides important benefits in preventing obesity-induced health problems.
