Material and Method: This crosssectional descriptive study was conducted at Family Medicine Outpatient Clinics of Ümraniye Training and Research Hospital between May 2020 -June 2020.The questionnaires to evaluate about childhood vaccination was prepared by researchers. The questionnaires were filled in by facetoface interview method. Sample size was found to be 224 by G*power 3.1.0 program with effect size 0.5; %5 mean size and %95 power. SPSS software was used for crosssectional analysis and p <0.05 was considered significant.

Results: In the study, 261 parents were included. Among the participants %58.1of them were knowledgeable about the vaccination calendar of the ministry of health whereas %62,4 of them received the information from their doctors. The most common vaccines in the calendar to parents were Hepatitis B %58,2 (n =114), measles %52,0 (n =102) and BCG %49,0 (n =96), respectively. The ages and education levels of the mothers significantly effected the ontime vaccination (p =0,012 and p <0,001). The education levels of the fathers as well effected the vaccination timing (p =0,006).

Conclusion: Most of the parents included in our study were knowledgeable about the vaccines and the vaccination calendar and their main source of information was health centers particularly doctors. Vaccine refusal rate was found to be 0.8% while vaccine hesitancy was 1.9% among the participants. It is important to give more information regarding immunization in health institutions because this might increase the vaccination rate.
