Objective: We aimed to evaluate the results of operations performed for scaphoid fractures with different indications in our clinic.

Material and Method: Forty-seven patients who were operated for scaphoid fractures in the orthopedics and traumatology clinic were included in the study. The effects of surgical technique, fracture location and smoking on union and wrist clinical score were evaluated.

Results: Looking at the anatomical locations of the fracture; 5 (10.6%) patients had distal pole fractures, 32 (68.1%) patients had lumbar fractures, 10 (21.3%) patients had proximal pole fractures. When the MAYO scores were examined according to the anatomical regions of the fracture, distal pole fractures were evaluated as excellent-good, lumbar region fractures as good, and proximal pole fractures as good-fair. There was a decrease in MAYO scores of smoking p <0.05 There was no significant correlation between clinic scores according to the surgical procedures performed.

Conclusion: Percutaneous surgical method may be preferred in acute fractures, especially in stable non-displaced fractures, but there was no significant difference in clinical scoring with open surgery. It has been observed that the location of the fracture is important in terms of clinical score, and tobacco use negatively affects the union.
