Objective: This study was performed in order to evaluate the results of application of mitomycin-C with revision dacryocystorhinostomy and application of bicanalicular silicone tube intubation with canaliculorhinostomy in patients of unsuccessful primary dacryocystorhinostomy operation .

Material and method: In this study, we reviewed a consecutive series of 25 recurrent dacryocystitis cases between 1999-2000. The follow up period was 4-20 months ( mean 9.6 months) . Fourteen patients having adequate canaliculi and lacrimal sac tissue for anastomosis were applied mitomycin-C with revision dacryocystorhinostomy. Eleven patients having inadequate canaliculi and lacrimal sac tissue for anastomosis were undergone bicanalicular silicone tube intubation without performing anastomosis.

Results: The success rate of these procedures is found to be 92.86 % for mitomycin-C cases and 90.91% for patients underwent bicanalicular silicone tube intubation.

Conclusion: Mitomycin-C application with bicanalicular silicone tube intubation in revision dacryocystorhinostomy operation is found to be an easy method and increases the succes rate in patients gone unsuccessful primary dacryocystorhinostomy operation.
