Objective: In this clinical study, repair of postburn flexion contracture of finger by laterodigital flap is described.

Materials and Methods: 9 patients (16 fingers) were treated with this method. The flap donor sites were closed full skin grafting in all cases, using a single flap for one finger. The fingers were immobilized using k-wire in 3 cases (6 fingers) and plaster in 6 cases (10 fingers) for 15 days later operations. The mean follow- up period was 21 months.

Results: Any of the cases were not obserwed partially or totally flap necrosis. Active range of motion (ROM) was obtained satisfoctary later of operations. Incomplete success was obtained in cases that had shortness in their digital neurovascular bundles. No recurrence was seen due to flap and graft contracture during following of patients.

Conclusion: We concluded that, lateral finger flap could be used safely and effectively to repair of flexion contracture of finger. ©2008, Firat University, Medical Faculty
