Objective: This study is descriptive research conducted to determine the knowledge and utilization of the family planning (FP) methods Among married males and affecting factors of these services.

Materials and Methods: The scope of this study covered married man living in the Adalet family health center region of Samsun. The sample consist of 298 married man that have accepted to participates the study between 01 November- 31 december 2007. Data were collected by using aquestionnaire and questions was applied face to face. The data were evaluated using SPSS 10.0 package programme.

Results: It was found that 91.9 % of them use any method. The ratio of using a modern method among FP methods was 66.8 %. The men were seemed to be known Coitus interaptus was firt method, condom was second methods respectively, among FP metods. Condom was first method (40.3%) and Coitus interaptus was second methods (33.2%) which were using commonly in research group. There was statistically significant relation between to confirm a decision to getter with women of male in FP methods using FP modern metod, but the relation between age, education, number of child, duration of marriage, and to take information about FP was not significant statistically.

Conclusion: Results of the present study demonstrates most of the men to be known and using FP metods. but were insufficiency using of modern FP metods. According to results it was suggested that planned FP education include single men and adolescents.
