Objective: Our study aims to provide data for diseases that may occur in the lumbar region, anatomical disorders, surgical interventions to be perfor-med and the types of implants to be used in these operations in healthy pediatric patients aged 1 to 18 years.

Material and Method: In this study, MR images of a total of 432 healthy individuals, 12 girls and 12 boys, for each age group, in the pediatric age group at Fırat University Hospital, were examined. Anterior-posterior dimensions of L1, L2, L3, L4 and L5 vertebrae, canalis vertebralis and medulla spinalis were measured in axial and midsagittal planes in MR images.

Results: In our study, we compared medulla spinalis and canalis vertebralis diameter measurements according to the gender factor. As a result of this comparison, a statistically significant difference was found in the canalis vertebralis diameter measurements at the L3, L4 and L5 vertebra levels of the 17 and 18 years old people. In addition, a statistically significant difference was found in the L4 and L5 level canalis vertebralis diameter measu-rements of 16-year-olds. No statistically significant difference was found in other comparisons.

Conclusion: We predict that the data obtained in the study will help future studies and the treatment of diseases that will occur in this region.
