Rare complication of Meckel's diverticulum:Ileus |

Meckel’s diverticulum is the most common congenital anomaly of Gasrointestinal System. This pathologic lesion could lead to intestinal obstruction and bleeding, life threatening and can cause acute abdomen which mandatory laparatomy during childhood, but this lesion rarely found by radiodiagnostic investigations or during laparatomy in adults. It is originated from nonclosure of omphalomesenteric tube between 5-7th intrauterine week. In this case report, rotated and caused intestinal obstruction due to torsion of Meckel’s diverticulum was presented and discussed under the light of English literature. ©2008, Firat University, Medical Faculty
