Objective: The lack of a complete cure for COVID-19 disease has made prevention measures important. The first of these is vaccination. In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the vaccine hesitancy of parents during the COVID-19 pandemic period.

Material and Method: The research is a descriptive study. The research was carried out on the parents of students studying in a primary school, a secondary school and a high school in a district of Istanbul. Questionnaire form was used in the research. The statistical significance level was taken as p< 0.05 in the analysis.

Results: Within the scope of the research, 249 parents were reached. In the study, 37.3% of the parents were in the 36-40 age group and their average age was 39.6±6.0 years. In the study, it was determined that 1.2% of the parents did not have their children vaccinated regularly and 33.7% of them did not think of having their children vaccinated against COVID-19. It was determined that 52.2% of the participants gave the answer \"I ag-ree/strongly agree\" to the proposition \"The strongest preventive measure against epidemics, is vaccination\". It was determined that 43% of the partici-pants gave the answer \"I agree/strongly agree\" to the statement \"The side effects of vaccines worry me\".

Conclusion: At the time the research was conducted, COVID 19 vaccination was one of the most important agendas in our country and the vaccina-tion of the study group had not started yet. In the study, it was determined that a significant part of the parents were worried about the side effects of the vaccines. It is recommended to inform parents about vaccinations and the practices of the ministry of health in this regard, and to reduce the frequency of being worried and not getting vaccinated.
