Objective: The aim of the study is to evaluate how the elderly with chronic diseases have chronic disease follow-up due to new coronavirus disease (Covid-19), the current disruptions and causes, if any, and their depression status in this period.

Material and Method: In this crosssectional and observational study, 226 participants aged 65 years and over were interviewed. Research questions including sociodemographic data, chronic disease follow-up status and geriatric depression scale short form questions were answered by interviewing the participants face to face. SPSS IBM 23.0 package program was used in statistical analysis, p <0.05 was accepted as significance.

Results: The median age of the participants is 70 years; 53.5% (n =121) were female, 46.5% (n =105) were male. Married participants were 71.7% (n =162), primary school graduates were 30.1% (n =68). All participants had at least one chronic disease. pression was detected in 55 (24.4%) of the participants. In the post-pandemic follow-up of all chronic diseases, except for osteoarthritis and cerebrovascular events, a decrease was detected compared to the prepandemic event. The decrease in chronic disease follow-ups after the pandemic was present in all the sociodemographic data we investigated.

Conclusion: The data obtained from our study show that depression is at a considerable level in individuals aged 65 and over, who have undergone the pandemic process under more difficult conditions, who are exposed to restrictions, whose contacts with their relatives are limited, who are lonely and whose daily activities are affected, and that the elderly cannot go to chronic disease follow-up examinations sufficiently in this process.
