Objective: To assess the results of our initial laparoscopic urologic surgery experience.

Material and Method: The laparoscopic surgical operations were reviewed between November 2010 and December 2012,retrospectively. Thirty-two patients (19 men, 13 women) underwent laparoscopic surgery in our clinic by the same surgeon.

Results: The mean age of the patients was 49,5±13,6 years. Of the 32 laparoscopic interventions, 27 were performed transperitoneally and 5 were performed retroperitoneally. The indications for surgery were renal mass in 10 patients, non-functional kidney in 10 patients, renal cyst in 5 patients, ureter stone in 4 patients, renal (pelvis) stone in 2 patients and adrenal mass in 1 patient. The operation times were like these minute (interval): simple nephrectomy 102 (90- 110), radical nephrectomy 126 (110-145), renal cyst excision 45 (40-50), ureterolithotomy 85 (80-90), pyelolithotomy 105 (100-110), adrenalectomy 65 minutes.Three patients (9%; 2 radical nephrectomy and 1 retroperitoneally ureterolithotomy) were converted to open surgery. Except these patients there wasn't any major complications and mortalities. None of the patients did not require blood transfusion. Transumbilical laparoendoscopic single-site (LESS) simple nephrectomy was performed in one patient. Except this one case, in all operations 3 ports was used.

Conclusion: The results, success and complication rates of the first 32 laparoscopic operations which are performed in our clinics were found as similar to literature. Laparoscopic surgery with its high success rates and low morbidity is an effective, safe, and minimally invasive approach for the treatment of urological pathologies.
